Lydia Lassila OAM is a groundbreaking Australian freestyle aerial skier and Olympic champion, known for her trailblazing achievements in the sport. She became the first woman ever to execute a quad-twisting-triple somersault on snow—once considered only achievable by men. A five-time Winter Olympian, Lydia has won both Gold and Bronze medals, solidifying her legacy as one of the sport’s greats.
Her inspiring journey is documented in her autobiography The Will to Fly, which also became a celebrated documentary film. Lydia’s accolades include winning the prestigious Don Award in 2010, receiving the Order of Australia Medal, and being inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame.
In addition to her sports career, Lydia is a mother of two, a motivational speaker, a mindset coach and an entrepreneur. She founded BodyICE in 2007, a company providing innovative cold therapy products, and in 2020, launched ZONE by Lydia, a sustainable yoga and wellness brand driven by her passion for yoga, living mindfully and the environment.
