Ahmed Fahour AO

Mr. Ahmed Fahour AO currently serves as the Group CEO of GURNER™ Group and holds the position of Chairman at Invest Victoria, along with a Non-Executive Director role at the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation.

With over 35 years of experience, Ahmed has held key executive positions across diverse sectors including banking, financial services, management consulting, and postal services. His notable roles include Managing Director, Board member, and CEO at Latitude Financial, Australia Post, National Australia Bank Australia, and Citigroup Alternative Investments (in New York), as well as a global Partner at Boston Consulting Group. Additionally, he serves as Chairman of the Hairhouse Group.

Throughout his career, Ahmed has assumed various appointments, including Director of Nasdaq Dubai, Carlton Football Club, and Methodist Ladies College. He has chaired significant organisations such as the Council of Australian-Arab Relations and ASX-listed company Pro-Pac Packaging, while also serving as Chairman of Rip Curl and Non-Executive Director of the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute. In recognition of his contributions, he was appointed as an Adjunct Professor at La Trobe University Business and Law School in 2014. He is also an official member of the Monash Industry Council of Advisers (MICA).

Ahmed has played pivotal roles in diplomatic affairs, serving as Australia’s Special Envoy to the OIC and founding the Islamic Museum of Australia, where he holds the position of Founder & Patron. He was honoured with the title of Officer of the Order of Australia in January 2017.

Educationally, Ahmed holds a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) and an Honorary Doctorate from La Trobe University, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Melbourne Business School.

Outside of his professional endeavours, Ahmed shares his life with his wife, Hannah, and together they are parents to six beautiful children.
