PROFILE
A five-time Gold Logie nominee, Adam Hills is one of Australia’s best known comedians.
He is adored across Australia for his iconic role as the host of ABC TVs music-focused quiz show Spicks and Specks and for his talk show, Adam Hills Tonight. Across the pond, Adam has likewise become a household name with his talk show, The Last Leg, airing on Channel Four for over a decade. Originally commissioned as a one-off series for the 2012 London Paralympics, the Poms loved our mate Adam so much that The Last Leg has been on air ever since! You can also catch The Last Leg on ABC TV.
Of course Adam’s not always sitting behind a desk on TV – he also spends a lot of time standing on stage with a mic in hand. Adam has been nominated three times for the Perrier award at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and regularly performs at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Adam is a tireless activist and in 2022 was awarded an MBE for his services to Paralympic Sport and disability awareness. In 2019, Adam Hills: Take His Legs was released, a sports documentary that follows the birth of the Warrington Wolves physical disability rugby league team from its creation, to the first PDRL World Club Challenge. In August 2023, a sequel documentary about the inaugural PDRL World Cup was released, titled Adam Hills: Grow Another Foot.
Comedy is such a massive part of Adam’s life that he wrote a whole book about it. Adam’s memoir Best Foot Forward is a Times best seller. Adam has also authored three books in the children’s book series Rock Star Detectives – which, he tells us, is not a memoir.
