PROFILE

Lucas Miller is a human performance researcher, author, and the youngest faculty at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.

Lucas teaches one of the most popular MBA classes at Berkeley called “Becoming Superhuman: The Science of Productivity and Performance” and has been featured in Wired and The Wall Street Journal. Along with his wife Dr. Sahar Yousef, he also runs the Becoming Superhuman Lab, a training and consulting firm which teaches busy professionals who think for a living how to get their most important done, in less time, with less stress.

Lucas began his career researching the science of learning, publishing his first book Beyond Brilliance at the age of 21. His work now focuses on the evolving interplay between productivity and technology, where he advises organizations on leveraging AI as a cognitive co-pilot that can help us overcome the brain’s limitations and free up bandwidth for what matters most.

Lucas’s key strength lies in his unique ability to distill academic research into practical, easy-to-understand strategies that apply in the real world.

His areas of expertise include:

  • Human productivity and performance optimization
  • Practical strategies for leveraging AI to enhance efficiency, creativity, and decision-making
  • Behavioural economics and the psychology of investing

As part of his mission to make human performance research accessible and actionable to millions of humans, Lucas has:

  • Given over 600 talks and keynotes to knowledge workers in 50+ countries
  • Advised executive teams at companies like JP Morgan, Google, Visa, and Coinbase
  • Taught one of the most highly rated online courses on Scott Galloway’s education platform Section, which is an intensive version of his Becoming Superhuman MBA course
