PROFILE

Nick is a successful and unsuccessful entrepreneur.

He started on this journey as a small business owner and startup founder. He built and sold a few businesses. And he failed. A lot. Some of his best ideas turned out to be terrible ones and, thankfully, vice versa.

Nick has built agencies and built apps. He’s sold stuff online and he’s helped loads of people tell their unique stories to the world by honestly telling his.

Storytelling was key to me being able to build and sell startup businesses, and it was key to him leaving the small biz world when Facebook recruited him to start, build, and run their small business operations in Australia and New Zealand.

After leaving Facebook, he went on to work at Twitter, and to this day, and is still the only Australian to have worked at both Facebook and Twitter and the only person in the world to have worked in marketing departments at both brands.

But you know that feeling when you’ve got a good job, and you’re doing fun work … but you just feel like you should be doing something else?

Nick just knew he wanted to do 3 things: he wanted to write a book about his childhood experience with abuse and trauma, and how he he lived with anxiety, depression and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder as a result, he wanted to speak more about that and other experiences with mental illness and resilience and growth on stage in front of audiences where he can make a difference to other people living with that stuff (or living with people who are living with that stuff), and he wanted to change careers (again) to become a psychotherapist, and work with people in a much more hands-on way to help them with their own healing and growth.

SPEAKING TOPICS

Nick has developed a 60 minute presentation, that is delivered completely online to your team, that focuses on the things that will propel your business forward once the current restrictions ease and things return to whatever ‘normal’ is going to be. The presentation covers things including harnessing the power of your team to respond to setbacks, recovering from the loss and grief associated with the lockdown, and our amazing ability to build and reveal resilience, even in the most testing of times.

Having worked with Nick on numerous occasions, I can absolutely guarantee that he delivers on his promise. Audiences love him. he calls it as he sees it and I have absolute admiration and respect for his speaking “kick-assedness’. Book Nick and every expectation that you have will be exceeded – and your audience will have a blast.
