Bernie Brookes

With 36 years experience in the retail industry, Bernie Brookes AM is a business/retail icon.

In recent times he was Chairman of the CEO Institute, and CEO of Myer for 10 years. He took Myer from a $66 Million loss organisation to one of the top 200 listed companies with a market capitalisation of over $1 Billion, with the last seven years of profitability in excess of $150 Million.

In 2013 Bernie was inducted into the Australian Retailers Association Hall of Fame, an honour that has been bestowed on very few. Over the last few years Bernie‘s achievements have continued with his receiving an Order of Australia Medal (AM) in 2016, winning the United Nations ‘He for She‘ South African Award in 2016 and being chosen as CEO of the Year Africa Sub Sahara in 2017.
