PROFILE

Justin Jones aka Jonesy, is Australia’s pre-eminent Explorer, Keynote speaker and Storyteller.

His exploits have earnt him two Guinness World Records and a place as one of Australia’s 50 Greatest Explorers of all time.

Over the past 18 years he has made a career of undertaking huge, epic, record setting expeditions and sharing these on stage and screen.

Crossing the Ditch

In 2008, Jonesy along with expedition partner, Cas, paddled a kayak unsupported from Australia to New Zealand paddling 3318 km over 62 days.

Crossing the Ice

In 2012 he then skied 2275km from the edge of Antarctica to the South Pole and back over 89 days, completely unsupported setting another world first.

Heading Outback

In 2017 Jonesy, his wife Lauren, and one-year old daughter, Morgan undertook an 1800km trek across the Australian outback. For 102 days they lived wild, in synch with the heartbeat of the land, attempting to challenge the belief that you can’t lead an adventurous life and a family life at the same time.

On Stage:

Jonesy is a passionate story teller. For the past 10 years he has presented on stages right around the world. His keynotes interweave dramatic and forceful emotion with powerful lessons on teamwork, risk mitigation, grit, resilience, leadership, trust and communication.

If you want an audience to walk away inspired – with takeaways firmly cemented in mind, you have to shift them emotionally first. To date he has shared his keynotes and facilitated workshops to over 350,000 people globally.

Jonesy will take you on a journey to the ends of the earth as part of his record setting expeditions:

• Crossing the Ditch: Daring to dream then riding out the storm
Why would two young successful Aussies sacrifice everything to achieve a seemingly impossible dream; to become the first to paddle across the Tasman Sea.

• Extreme South: To Hell and back, a journey across afrozen wasteland
A story of resilience, determination, competition and the human spirit in the most hostile environment in the world; Antarctica.

• Heading Outback: A family’s journey across the Outback in search of self discovery, following passion and finding purpose
What would possess a young couple to defy societal expectations and take their one year old daughter on a 102 day trek across the Australian Outback?

Applying an “Expedition Mindset” to everyday business and life
In this keynote, Jonesy unpacks the lessons he’s learnt from the past 18 years of adventure and the ‘expedition mindset’ needed to focus, adapt, overcome and achieve under extreme stress situations. Jonesy will show you how to translate that mindset to all areas of your business and life.

Jonesy’s workshops strongly focus on interactivity and participation. Using the vessel of his expeditions he works tirelessly to help you achieve the goals determined prior to the workshop. More than anything he wants your team to walk out of the room empowered and willing to apply the lessons he’s learnt from Adventure.

Adventure-based Immersive Simulations
Your team will be thrust onto expedition across the Tasman Sea or into the teeth of an Antarctic blizzard making decisions that will ultimately determine success or failure. By immersing participants into a new environment and drawing parallels to your business opportunities and issues to overcome, I’ll engage your staff to enhance team dynamics, recognise decisive business ‘moments’ and enable better decision making.

The Adventure Process
From ideation to execution – this workshop unpacks the 6 critical stages in planning, executing and achieving any extreme or audacious goal. By paralleling this process to business and unpacking the stakes of failure or the opportunities from success, your team will ultimately understand that fear and risk are ultimately allies rather than something to avoid.

Operation Antarctica
Your team will be forced to survive an Antarctic blizzard. With limited time and resources they have only moments to set up a tent to shelter from -40 degree temperatures ands winds threatening to blow them away. Hesitate and the consequences can be dire. Only with laser sharp focus, clarity, team work and communication will they be able to beat the storm.

Workshops can be run for 5-100 participants and be applied in a short 90minute blast to a packed one day agenda.
